Very good location, atmosphere. Very nice dining room and recepetion.
Bedroom comfortable but dreary. The radio on at breakfast time on Sunday morning in the dining room was a horrible din. Couldn't relax and read the newspaper.
Its a bit run down ie carpets marked no telephones in the room
Location, cleanliness, good breakfast, obliging staff on the phone when I had my wife accompany me at the last moment, very convenient, safe parking.
Some areas could do with a bit of an update and lightening up of the decor (mainly lower passageways)
The receptionist was very polite and gave a fulll refund when we explained why we wouldn't be staying.
We left after less than 5 minutes in the room. Paint and wall paper were peeling, there was mould in the batchroom, the bath was chipped and the roomsmelt of smoke.
Room was clean and comfortable. Wide range of TV channels available. Breakfast food was well cooked, and the coffee was lovely. Staff were very friendly.
Nothing major. Wallpaper in our room was peeling, and the basin in my mother's en suite wasn't properly cleaned.
very good breakfast.
noisy bed (not too bad though)
Hotel staff demonstrated good customer care skills, were friendly and helpful
Very clean room, quiet and relaxed. excellent bar and staff. very reasonable price a good feeling of comfort and tradition. Very happy and will stay again.
I have no complaint but I would make a suggestion for the food. Pate starter needs more toast for the amount of pate, or less pate, and pate should always be served at room temp'. The side dish of veg could be elevated to fantastic if they were tossed in butter before serving. An improvement in the quality of the breakfast sausage would make a good breakfast great. The overall quality of the food was good, well priced and enjoyable.
What I asked for was provided and we enjoyed a quiet night's sleep in comfortable beds
I would have liked the opportunity to receive a wake-up call, preferably over a telephonne link
Not much - an extremely poor hotel.
The only good thing was its location to the Historic Dock Yard which is why we went to Portsmouth. The hotel had only one room booked instead of 2 rooms. The bathroom has glass shelves immediatly above your head in the bath. The lifts were marked "out of order" and when we asked about this we were told "They work sometimes". Uncomfortable beds and a very poor quality television which looked as though it was a portable.
Staff very helpful and attentive
Decor in some areas is tired and dated
We were in a newly refurbished room which was very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. In fact, we would both come back again because the location was so good and the staff were so helpful and it was easy to get to the historic dockyards and for shopping at Gunwharf.
Close to Royal Navy Dockyard and also super shopping centre at Gun Wharf Quays! Ideal for returning sailors and their families.
The decor is a little bit dated but service was excellent so not too much of a problem!
Handy for sights and a very tasty breakfast.
Could do with a lick of paint.
Very close to the Gosport ferry and Gunwharf Quays. Rate for Bed & Breakfast was excellent. Free WIFI.
